Looking back, it seemed like overnight. But at the time, it was so gradual, I didn't even notice it. 

I had had enough.....

My husband and I were visiting his family up in Tennessee over the holidays. 

We booked a nice little VRBO in the hills for the two of us. Maybe get some "alone-time".

After settling in and touring the house, I went into the bathroom to unpack my bathroom bag and I noticed they had a fancy digital scale next to the shower. Hmm, we haven’t had a working scale at our house in years.

What the heck, why not, I decided to step on.....just to see what it read.

202 pounds….Nope, no way? It must be broken - surely, it was off. 202.
We all hear people talk about that moment, that certain 'something' that, I don't know, almost scares them it was so unexpected. This was mine - THAT HIT ME HARD.
I looked up in the bathroom mirror, I looked so tired, puffy and round.

That evening I was lying in bed, thinking like we do sometimes, and I made a decision right then and there.

I tried so many things to get in shape: dieting, calorie cutting, walking, smoothie diets, Keto, Paleo, Yoga - It's frustrating even now looking back on it. So much time wasted.

(...and I'm just a little embarrassed to confess I slept with an onion in my sock...) Seems an old time folk remedy for a cold or flu has crept into weight loss mythology. LOL.

Next, I did Keto. There were some excellent meals to be had with that plan, but I missed toast and croutons constantly.

Then I counted calories, tried Paleo, I even went vegetarian for a whole month. BUT, my scale always read the same thing!

Apple Cider Vinegar Mix
We've been asked several times for the recipe, so here it is:
ACV Mix:
- one of those medium sized, insulated cups filled with ice
- fill it ¾ way up with water or sparkling water
- add 1 tbsp of ACV (to taste)
- juiced half-lemon or lime (use fresh-still has vitamin C)
- optional 1/2 tsp baking soda

P.S. Green Smoothie Recipe:
Some of my readers have requested the green smoothie recipe that I mention in other media. Well, here it is. Don't knock it until you try it.
Frozen Kale good handful use the stems & leaves. Red kale for eye health.
Blueberries 1/8 cup.
1 Banana
Any other berries
Cinnamon
1&1/2 cup water
Blend for several seconds to really get the kale pureed - and drink.
